Himalayan Tahr Treks was created to help empower the communities of the Nubri-Tsum Valley by increasing the livelihood opportunities available.

By training and hiring local guides for the nearby trekking circuit of Manasalu, and by only working with local businesses they hope to help stem the mass out-migration from the Valley and to create a sustainable future for our communities.

Himalayan Tahr Treks, also manages all visits to the Serang Monastery & School and 20% of the profits is dedicated to the monastery and school. Their motivation is to connect people to this holy place in a sustainable way which preserves and honours the environment, culture, traditions and religion.
